Current Status
A project portal has been developed, accessed via
www.e-wyse.co.uk
it hosts a whole range of information and resource available to West Yorkshire SMEs. Qualifying companies
can benefit by taking advantage of free training courses for their staff on e-learning related subjects
(to equip them as champions within their businesses) courses available include Introduction to Flash,
Introductory Certificate in e-learning; Content Development; E-Cat and Reusable Objects and Implementing
e-learning. These courses will equip people with the necessary skills to manage on line students; tutor,
and communicate with people on-line; develop interesting and interactive content. An e-learning environment
is available for companies to upload their own company specific training materials and manage
their own learners in a secure environment.
For those companies wishing to fully take advantage of the opportunities offered via e-learning, the project
offers a company specific e-learning strategy to help you decide just how e-learning can benefit your company
and sets short, medium and long term goals to work to - with help and support from subject specialists amongst
the partners in the project.
The project is working with sector brokers with the region to ensure local companies get to take advantage
of all that is on offer. Partners have canvassed sector brokers too find out the most pressing training
needs affecting their sectors, which include: Care; Transport; Chemicals; Advanced Engineering; Voluntary Community;
Digital; Hospitality Tourism and Construction.
A network is being established to allow participating SMEs to share best practice and support each
other in their e-learning journey. Newsletters and case studies are being produced to celebrate the
success of companies involved.
